A Bountiful Job

1 Corinthians 15:58 – “Therefore my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.”

Anything that we do with excellence requires knowledge, persistence and a lot of determination, especially when executing a task at our job – or a project at school or college – or a chore at home, like cleaning or cooking a simple meal. We know when we are fully committed to doing our best, it takes a lot of elective effort: it is a decision.

And when we are called to do something for the Lord, our commitment level should have supernatural standards because it will require more from us, from a natural and from a spiritual perspective. As we do the work of the Lord, we may experience feelings of discouragement and tiredness; we may feel like giving up and difficulties may come our way to simply lead us to stop.

And who would imagine that doing good makes us tired?  Yes, it does.  That is why the Apostle Paul was encouraging the church in Galatia when he said “let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” (Galatians 6:9, NIV).

So we cannot give up. We must be steadfast and unmovable. “Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.” (2 Chronicles 15:7, King James). “Not because I (we) desire a gift; but I (we) desire fruit that may abound to your account.” (Philippians 4:17, King James).

Choose do to your best, especially for the Lord, because your labor will not be in vain!

I can grow in strength with the strength sourced from GOD. HE says “MY grace is sufficient”. This word comforts in my every situation.

GOD help me to stay strong and grow more in YOU. Help me to have “i in YOU and YOU in me” experience in my every day life

Abba Father, let self righteousness, disappointments and being judgemental never come in the way on doing what is right and expected of me!
