James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.
God alone is the source of all wisdom in the world. We only need to ask Him, and He will provide us with all the wisdom we need. But the catch is that we need to admit that we lack wisdom in different areas of our lives. We prefer to think that we know it all. We might even be experts in a particular skill or topic. However, our earthly wisdom pales in comparison to what God has to offer.
God does not withhold wisdom. James confirms that He gives generously to all without rebuking us or finding fault with us. But are we ready to admit that we absolutely need God’s wisdom to live our lives? We don’t need wisdom to just excel in our studies or ace job interviews. We need wisdom to face daily hurdles in our jobs. We need wisdom to find the right life partner and live at peace with them. We need wisdom to raise children who will grow up to glorify God.
When we acknowledge our need for wisdom, we will seek God earnestly for it. And He will fill us with His Holy Spirit who will teach us all things. Ask the Lord for wisdom today! He will bless you with all you need to live a life that brings glory to His Name.
