Psalm 91:5-6

You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day, nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.

This Psalm clearly states that there will be terror in the night, the evil will plot and slander, sickness stalks in the darkness and destruction lays waste in life. Since Satan quoted from this Psalm to our Lord Christ, let’s look at this in light of what Christ went through.

Jesus was led by the Holy Spirit, in the wilderness, surrounded by the snare of the fowler and deadly pestilence. The enemy was right there waiting tempt and to test Him. Jesus was hungry without food for forty days and forty nights with wild beasts for company. He too encountered serpents and other threats to His life. In those days and nights, this Psalm was probably one of the promises He held on to.

Learning from Christ, in our wilderness, let us choose to make the Lord Almighty our refuge and our fortress. Let us continually lean on Him and confidently trust in Him. A thousand may fall at our side, ten thousand at our right hand, but it shall NOT come near us. Our Lord will deliver us and set us on high!

You shall not be afraid, YOU SHALL NOT FEAR because the perfect love of the Saviour casts out ALL fear. He has given His angels charge over you-to accompany you wherever you go, defend you from attacks and dangers, preserve you in all your ways. The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear but a Spirit of power, love and a sound mind! You are a POWERHOUSE of the Holy Spirit, with an incredible ability to love beyond imperfections and an extraordinary mind with immense potential. You are created by a supernatural God to be extraordinary. Stay blessed in Jesus’ Name!!!

“For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 8:38-39.
    Amen
