From Fear to Fervour

2 Timothy 1:7  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

Is fear holding us back from fulfilling God’s vision for our life?

After the crucifixion of Jesus, His disciples were paralysed with fear. They stayed locked in a room for days, afraid that they may face the same end as Jesus if they were recognised in public. That was until Jesus appeared to them in that very room after resurrection.

Yes, Jesus has a habit of meeting us in our darkest hour, in the darkest place, when we are most desperate for a touch from God.

After meeting the disciples and proving His divinity, He ascended into heaven. On the day of Pentecost, He filled the disciples with the Holy Spirit! It was a Spirit of power, love and sound mind.

It gave the disciples courage to spread the good news about Jesus in different nations. The same people who were hiding in fear of death, were preaching to multitudes about the everlasting life that we have in Christ.

Even when the vision seems too daunting, God will put in us a Spirit of power, love and sound mind to accomplish the goal that He has set for us.
