He Will Never Leave You Nor Forsake You

Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.” -Hebrews 13:5 (NIV)

This is the closing chapter of the book of Hebrews. Most speakers end their speeches, presentations, or lectures with some key takeaways. Likewise, this chapter of the book of Hebrews has a key reminder to the readers. It is to be free from the love of money and to be content with what we have.

Imagine a typical morning when we wake up. What is the first thing on our minds? The first thing on our mind is generally what is most important to us.

Sometimes, it may be the project that we must work on that will take us to the next level – a promotion and higher pay. Some days we may wake up with deep sadness and stress because of losing a business, failure in studies, losing a loved one, or ill-health.

If the Lord Jesus Christ has promised us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, we have no reason to fret during our difficult and challenging moments. Let us look to the face of the Lord Jesus Christ this morning and ask him to lead us and give us the wisdom to make the right decisions in our lives. He will take us where we need to be in our careers, studies, relationships, and health.

Today, let us seek Him and let go of the overwhelming burden of ambition, money, fame, and fortune. Our friends or family may be more successful than us. But God has different plans for each of us. Our future is in the Lord Jesus’ hands. Just remember His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us.

Mathew 6:33 says “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”

Yes indeed, when we give first priority to money, job, possession, property, jewels etc., we lose our indentity in Christ Jesus. So, let’s give priority to God’s word, which gives satisfaction, peace and prosperity. Once I was addicted to money and worldly things, but by grace of God. I am been set free through His everlasting love. He’s good let’s cling and worship Jesus alone, because He has authority over our everything. He gives protection that no one give on this.
Thank you loving heavenly father. Though I frequently forgets your good and marvelous things. But you never leave nor forsake. You living, walking with me talking to me in my lowliness, in my every fallen time, you will pick me and embrace as mother comforts her child. In the precious name of Jesus I pray Amen.
