Never Forsaken

Psalm 9:10 – “And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.”

The mall was quite crowded when little Anna entered it with her parents. Although her parents tried to keep a tight hold on her, Anna kept slipping away whenever a sparkly storefront caught her eye. In her awe and excitement, staying close to her parents was not a priority, but ‘oohing’ and ‘aahing’ at all the fancy toys, clothes and accessories was. Little did Anna know that even when she had slid away from her parents’ grasp, they always had their eyes on her.

Often, we too slip our hands away from God’s grasp and move a bit farther from Him – intentionally or unintentionally. It starts with just a small break from Bible reading, prayer or fellowship, but it leads to us getting lured away by all the shiny things the world has to offer. While we may not completely turn away from God, the pleasures and pressures of this world do distract us on a daily basis. Still, God’s eyes remain on us. He constantly watches over His children.

Even if you feel abandoned by your closest friends or family, God will never give up on you. You sought Him at one time and you found Him. You established a relationship with Him – you are His beloved child. You are not too far away from His reach. Turn around and make your way back to Jesus. Seek Him, trust His ways and you will find yourself enveloped in His overwhelming love again.
