Open the Door!

Jeremiah 1:19  They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus was by far the most potent catalyst of socio-religious change. Hundreds of thousands of people were moved by the touch of the Holy Spirit and recognized the Lord Jesus as their saviour!

This was of immense concern to the Jews, who expected the truth of His divinity to be buried with Him. Of course, resurrection delivered a huge blow to their expectations.

In fact, it caused such a change in the ideologies of people, that even the Romans were concerned. They used every possible means to stop people from talking about the Lord Jesus, even to the extent of torturing and throwing them in prison. Paul, Silas, Peter and a host of ardent followers of the Lord Jesus were subject to such atrocities.

But God said, “They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.” – Jeremiah 1:19

Our God is a promise keeper! He caused a severe earthquake to get Paul and Silas out of prison. He sent His angel to rescue Peter when he was jailed.

But here’s the catch!

When people were praying for Peter’s release from prison, the Lord heard and answered their prayers. Peter was set free! He knocked on the door of the house, where a round-the-clock prayer meeting was in progress for his release. A little girl recognised Peter and told the others that he was back.

However, they didn’t believe the girl and continued praying.

Too often, God delivers us from our troubles. But we aren’t ready to believe that our miracle has arrived.

God will send our miracle, but He won’t open the door to let it in. It is up to us to open the door and receive our miracle!

I open the door and receive the miracle. It’s a timely message for me. I am facing a great challenge. This is a timely message. Jer 1:19 is the word for my season.. I embrace this word and hold it as a shield of faith to quench every fiery darts he throw against me. Praise the Lord.
