Rejoice in God

Psalm 31:7:  I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy: for thou hast considered my trouble; thou hast known my soul in adversities.

The psalmist here wants to be glad and rejoice in God’s mercy because God was with him in his trouble and adversities.

How many troubled days and hidden dangers has God kept us safe from?  When we walk on the road or drive to our place of work, there could have been many dangers awaiting us or lurking in the dark which we were unaware of.  God in His mercy kept us safe from all of them.  When troubles beset us, when we are caught unawares by fearful or terrifying conditions, we need to exhibit faith in God.  Faith that God is with us in every moments of our life.  We may not be able to comprehend the reason for our failures and defeats that befall us even when we walk a life of obedience and faith in God.  When we are down in pain and disappointments, it is the natural tendency of our human mind to first question God as to where He was during our darkest hours.  The fact is He is with us.  The psalmist here is so glad and joyful in the mercy of God.  God is so merciful to us even when we don’t deserve it.  God takes our troubled situation and subdues it in His power.  We don’t have to do anything about it but allow God to fight it out for us.

Let this God be your God.  Allow Him to reign in you, to reign in every situation of your life.  He will be with you and enable your faith to go up.  At the end of the day, all that God notices in you is if you had enough faith to believe in His mercy.
