Set Apart

The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.
The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.  Psalms 37:30-31 NKJV

As believers we have all come across our pastors, teachers, prophets preaching and highlighting bible verses that ask us to be holy and live holy lives for God delights in the ways of the righteous. But what could it really mean to be that way? In simple terms, to be set apart in a good way. As believers, we already take on the role of being different because we learn to live by faith and not by sight.

So as Christians we are expected think, act, behave and do everything differently, mirroring our Messiah Christ Jesus. However, it can be hard, life is getting tougher, our schedules make us busier and when we try to make ends meet, it can be hard to do things differently. Does that mean the scriptures are invalid or with time it changes and does not apply to us? Well if that’s what we’re made to believe, then we need to pause our busy lives for a moment, shut the chaos out and first set apart time with Jesus, in order to be set part for Him.

All said and done, it’s nice to read scriptures that speak life and declare His promises over our lives, but what happens when we are tempted, tried, or perhaps even tested? One of the best ways we can start learning to be set apart for God is to spend time with Him, but how do we do that? Prayer! Yes, when we spend time praying to God, we start becoming set apart for God. When the law of God is the manual of our life, our lives are well guarded by His righteousness and justice that will flow through us.

It is hard to practice but fruitful when practiced. HE calms the storm / confuses the enemies / rejoices our heart. HE works when we are still in prayers. There is Nothing impossible for my LORD GOD.
