THE GREAT CHASM

Psalm 115: 17-18 – “The dead do not praise the Lord, nor any who go down into silence. But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore. Praise the Lord!”

There are many popular religious movements in the world which are and go against the Word of God. A particular one believes that “the spirits of the dead exist and have both the ability and inclination to communicate with the living.”  But the word of God tells us otherwise.

In Luke 16: 19-31, there is the story of the rich man and Lazarus. In verse 26 we read “… between us (who are dead) and you (who are alive) a great chasm has been fixed, so that those who want to go from here to you cannot, nor can anyone cross over from there to us. We who are alive now have the privilege to praise the Lord, those who are dead, do not and cannot.

And the same is true when we are in eternity with our Lord. Those who are saved will forever be in the presence of God, the giver of life, and together with the angels we will continuously praise Him.  Those who are not saved, who rejected our God, will not be able to praise Him, and there will be no way to cross from one side to the other.

We must have some sense of urgency and responsibility while we are alive in this world, to proclaim to as many people as possible the Gospel of Jesus.  We need to show and point many to the way that leads to life, to beautiful sounds of praise to the One who formed and saved us.  Let us not in any manner contribute to the opposite, where many will be led to the place of the dead, and to the place of silence.

Let’s pledge and want to “bless the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.  Praise the Lord!”.

Praise the Lord. Living with God almighty is amazing. Though He is King of kings, Lord of lords. He never leaves nor forsakes us. He’s worthy to be praised. To Him alone belong all the Glory and honor.
Loving Heavenly Father thank you for the opportunity to Praise your name Master God bless you in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
