Psalm 37:40
The Lord shall help them and deliver them; He shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in Him.
This past decade has been marked by global uncertainty and crisis. From the COVID-19 pandemic, which brought lockdowns and fear, to ongoing wars that have caused great loss and economic instability, our generation has witnessed hardship unlike anything we’ve seen before. Panic and confusion have often filled the headlines, leaving many feeling hopeless.
Yet, the Word of God reminds us that while the world and its desires are passing away, His Word stands forever (1 Peter 1:24-25). The Bible warns us of the troubles of the last days, but it also gives hope to those who trust in the Lord. Even in dark times, God’s promises remain true.
Psalm 37:40 gives us two encouraging truths:
- The Lord delivers His people from the wicked.
Those who belong to Christ are not forgotten. God is our ever-present help. He defends and rescues His children from evil and harm. When we pray and walk closely with Him, we can trust that He is working for our good. - The Lord saves those who trust in Him.
God saves us not just from trouble, but for a purpose. As Jeremiah 29:11 says, His plans for us are good, full of hope and a future. Trusting in Him secures us under His protection and grace.
In uncertain times, let us not fear but hold fast to our faith. God is our helper, our deliverer, and our Savior. He is faithful to those who trust in Him.
So keep trusting in the Lord; He will never fail you.
