Wait on the Lord’s Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1 – “To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven.”

Timing is everything. There’s a time for everything – this is not just a Biblical truth but a universally acknowledged fact. An ill-timed joke isn’t funny, and could even be offensive. People often miss scheduled events and opportunities because they didn’t make it on time. This passage in Ecclesiastes might seem philosophical but is in fact, quite eye-opening.

Too often, we try to get something to happen at a particular time, but it just doesn’t work out. We’ve prayed about it and done our best, but it still isn’t happening the way we expected it to. In Isaiah 55:8-9, the Lord says, “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”

What seems to be the right time in our perspective, might not be the best time for us. God, in His infinite wisdom, has planned our days. We cannot try to rush Him. Instead, we must wait patiently and let the Lord lead our next steps. If things are not working out in the timeframe you set, ask the Lord what His timeframe is. He will guide you in what you need to do next and prepare you for your best days that lie just ahead.
