Matthew 6:33: But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
God wants us to prioritize the things that pertain to Him. He wants us to seek His Kingdom and His righteousness. If we do those two things diligently, then we can rest assured that our physical wants and desires will be added unto us.
God said seek ye “first” God’s kingdom. Seeking means attempting to search or look for something until we find it. Seeking after God’s kingdom should be our first priority. God’s kingdom involves the goodnews, the gospel and to spread and share it with those who have not heard it. Prioritize the things of God as our first priority. God’s kingdom involves aligning our lives with His word. It also involves love, mercy, forgiveness, and acceptance. These are the things that we should go after and seek with all our heart. Seeking after His righteousness means going for the righteousness that comes with accepting Him in our lives. Our self-righteousness is like filthy rags before God. Let us seek after His righteousness and a life of right standing with God.
When we seek after these two things, our physical blessings will be added to us. Jesus said do not worry about what you will eat or what you will clothe but rather seek after God. It is God who will supply all our needs according to His riches in glory. Have a thirst to know God more and more and surely the God of heaven will ensure your needs are met.
