Psalm 18:34-35 – “He teacheth my hands to war, so that a bow of steel is broken by mine arms. Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation: and thy right hand hath holden me up, and thy gentleness hath made me great.”
None of us like to fight battles in our lives, and yet we face varied struggles on a daily basis. Whether we’re fighting external circumstances or internal conflicts, we do need wisdom and strength to overcome them. In today’s verse, we’re assured that it’s the Lord who teaches us how to war. He strengthens our arms and grants us the ability to win the victory.
God doesn’t teach us just theoretically. Jesus has gone before us, facing all kinds of evil, temptations and even death… and He’s won the victory. Therefore, when we pay heed to the Lord’s Word, we know it has the power to equip us to fight our daily battles.
Remember that your salvation is a shield against all the arrows of doubt the devil might send your way. You are washed clean and set free by the blood of Jesus. You no longer stand on your strength but by His. God empowers you to excel in every area of your life. May the Lord’s right hand hold you up this month and enable you to live a life that brings glory to His Name.
