1 Peter 2:24 – “…who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.”
Can you imagine for a moment the events that led up to the crucifixion of Jesus? The Bible tells us it was humiliating, bloody and painful. Jesus underwent intense persecution and excruciating pain when He sacrificed Himself our behalf. He was mercilessly whipped and nailed to the cross. He suffered a terrible punishment for our sins and shortcomings.
When the prongs of the whip sliced through His flesh and left their mark, He bore the pain and suffering because of His unconditional love for you and me. Jesus’ death and resurrection has given us a second chance at life – a chance to die to our old selves and be born again as His children. Now we are heirs of God, inheriting the riches of His kingdom.
By His stripes, you are healed and delivered so you can live up to your full potential. God has granted you abundant life and an everlasting hope in Him. Whether you need healing in your body, mind or soul, you can find it in Christ. He alone can soothe your pain, comfort your hurting heart and strengthen your spirit.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for loving me while I was still a sinner and dying on my behalf. By Your stripes, I am now healed, delivered and made whole again. Help me live a righteous life that magnifies You Name. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
