Isaiah 61:11 – “…as a garden causes what is sown in it to sprout up, so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to sprout up before all the nations.”
It’s a well known phrase, “You reap what you sow.” When you sow a mango seed, you expect a mango tree to sprout up. In the same way, whatever we sow into our lives plays a major role in what we reap. When you sow dedication, discipline, excellence and hard work, you can expect a life of prosperity to sprout up. But we must take another factor into consideration – the grace of God.
Your past may be scattered with sinful thoughts, bad decisions and a careless attitude, but as a believer of Jesus, you’ve been born again. What you sowed in your past does not solely determine your future. While you may have to bear some effects of your past, your future is largely influenced by the grace of God.
As a child of God, your Heavenly Father has a big say in how your life pans out. You have the opportunity to sow good seeds now – seeds of prayer, a deeper understanding of the Bible and a closer intimacy with God. As you spend time in God’s presence, seek His will in your life and allow the Holy Spirit to guide you daily, God will cause righteousness, praise and excellence to sprout out from your life.
