Psalm 7:17 – “I will give thanks to the LORD because of his righteousness; I will sing the praises of the name of the LORD Most High.”
As the last day of 2017 dawns, it’s natural to look back at the year that was. You might have had a good year, or a not-so-good one. Or perhaps you experienced your share of ups and downs, good things and bad. There were probably instances where you can look back and thank God for working things out for you. But there also might be areas where God did not answer a prayer or perform the miracle you expected Him to. You might have had some great opportunities but maybe you also have some regrets.
Let’s take a step back today, forget what has happened and choose to thank God for the year that was. Thank Him for His wisdom, healing, strength, comfort, grace, mercy, provision and protection. Thank Him for the open doors and also the ones He didn’t allow you to walk through. Thank Him because even if your circumstances were bad this year, God was good to you.
Thank God for the amazing ways He worked on your behalf. Thank Him for those times when He did not change your situation, but brought about a beautiful change in you. Thank Him for the freedom to learn from His Word and experience His goodness on a day to day basis. Thank God for His faithfulness the past year and His promise for the new year that’s dawning. As long as you remain rooted in God’s Word and stay true to Him, you can be assured He’s working it all out for your good.
