HE IS WORTHY

O Lord, You are my God, I will exalt You, I will praise Your name, For You have done wonderful things; Your counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. Isaiah 25:1

We can give thanks and praise the Lord in good times, but can we give thanks and praise Him in bad times? Are we giving Him the praise that He deserves? The bible illustrates how giving thanks to God daily will positively impact our lives. When we pause to acknowledge His blessings, we come to understand of the things we wouldn’t have otherwise. The best way to begin a prayer and enter His presence is with thanksgiving, thanking God for His never-ending love, inextinguishable grace and His always-accessible presence in our lives.

No matter what we pray for, thanksgiving can always go with it, because as children of God we must learn to live beyond our feelings and lay His truth as our foundation. On any given day, we may feel good-bad, happy-sad and a thousand other things. Although feelings can be very strong and demanding, we do not have to let them rule our lives. A life of frustration, struggle and a life without His peace is the result of focusing on things we can’t do anything about, instead as apostle Paul said, “Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus” -Philippians 4:6-7.

As a child of God at heart, our relationship with our heavenly father must be established on remembrance and thanksgiving. Remembering His faithfulness when He delivered the Israelites from Egypt, remembering the promises that God gave Abraham, remembering the gift of Calvary in our lives. We were not called to a life of frustration and struggle, so let us remember and thank God for Jesus who came so we could have righteousness, joy and peace!
