Jeremiah 31:3 – Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; Therefore, with loving kindness I have drawn you.
Our God is a God of love. He has unconditional love for us – His children – no matter how many times we fail Him. God could easily reject us for failing Him, instead, He draws us to His Kingdom with His loving kindness.
In this Scripture, God tells the people of Israel of the promise He made to them. A promise to love them unconditionally and always. How many times did the people of Israel forsake God even after He brought them out of Egypt? But, God never stopped loving Israel despite their repeated failings.
This promise to Israel transcends to all who believe in Him. God loves us; and our God is a promise-keeping God. When we do wrong, just like the people of Israel, God does not forsake us. God’s Grace forgives us of all our wrongdoings when we repent of our sins.
God brought the Israelites out of Egypt to the Promised Land, as He had promised them. In the same way, God has chosen us to take us to His Eternal Kingdom in Heaven. With the unchanging, everlasting love that he Has for us, God forgives our failings and guides us back to Him through the Holy Spirit so that we can be with Him in Heaven.
Thank you, Lord, for your never-ending, unchanging love. Thank you for your promise Lord to love us unconditionally, even though we are not worthy. We come before you today Lord and repent of our sins so that you can forgive us of our transgressions with your Mercy. Thank you for choosing us Lord as Heirs to your Kingdom in Heaven. Amen.
