No Longer Slaves

Psalm 33:12

Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, The people He has chosen as His own inheritance.

This is a beautiful banner that the Lord hailed over Israel. Establishing them as His own inheritance. Israel was the nation through whom the Savior of the world was born. How blessed then is Israel, whose God is the Almighty. The God who is the beginning of all things. In whom all things, were, are and are to come. How blessed are those people whom He has chosen as His own.

Yet, God’s redemptive plan was not just for the nation of Israel, but for all those who believe in Him and worship Him in spirit and in truth. We that have experienced the beauty of being “born again” have the privilege of being the actual sons/daughters of God. We are, through being born again, His own inheritance. Christ Jesus came so that not just Israel, but anyone who believes in Him and walks in His ways would experience the same joy, peace and wholesomeness.

On this special day, our Republic Day, let us intercede for this land that the Lord has placed us in. This day marks the celebration of the empowerment of the Indian citizen. We are no longer under the ‘dominion’ status.

We identify as co-heirs with Christ Jesus. So, if Christ came so that none would perish, that should be the cry of our hearts. With gratitude in our hearts for the price Jesus paid for our salvation, let us proclaim the same freedom over our homes, our towns, our cities, our state and our country!
