Of his fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. – John 1:16

In this chapter John the Baptist describes Our Lord Jesus. He declares that Jesus was the word,
through Him all things were made and that nothing was made without Him. He goes on to orate that
He was life and the light of all men and that the darkness could not comprehend it. Jesus is the same
yesterday, today and forever. If you need a word of encouragement or love speak the name of Jesus.
He is the word. If you need a creative miracle, through Him all things were made, speak the name of
Jesus. If you need deliverance from the powers of darkness, speak the name of Jesus because
darkness cannot comprehend him.

John the Baptist goes on to make know that even though the world was made through Him (Jesus)
that the world would not accept him. If you have known the feeling of rejection you are not alone.
Jesus was rejected too. John goes on to say that the word became flesh and was full of grace and
truth. As believers, we are recipients of a constant overflowing gift of grace which began with God
reaching out to us for salvation.

God’s redemptive plan of salvation remains overwhelming. Even though Christ was full of truth He
was also full of love. The truth was that we deserved Gods judgment as sinners but we received
grace when we received Jesus Christ as our savior. He was grace personified. He endured the wrath
of God in our place and through our faith in Jesus we receive God’s pardon and provisions in our
lives. Freely we have received so freely we must give.

Sow Mercy is a gospel song composed by Reba Rambo-McGuire. Sow Mercy is also sung by Gaither
Vocal Band, a famous Christian music band. The lyrics of the song encapsulate our role as recipients
of this incomparable and undeserving grace. The chorus goes on to say sow mercy, sow grace, sow
kindness, sow faith, Words are like water, sprinkled with love, You will harvest all your heart’s been
dreaming of. Sow mercy.
