Thank you!

Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! Psalm 107:8

Children are often taught to say the golden words, thank you and please. This simple phrase, “Thank you”, speaks volumes. When someone tells us thank you, we feel happy. It makes us feel acknowledged. It shows an appreciation for our being. A sincere thank you warms our hearts and motivates us to do more.

Do you think God seeks acknowledgment, or appreciation from us with a thank you or needs a motivation to do good to us? You answered correctly. He does not. God’s Kingdom is unique. His Kingdom teaches us to give. Give thanks. Giving thanks fills our hearts with warmth for God because it helps us recall His faithfulness. It helps us appreciate His sacrifice for us. “Thank you God”, allows us to acknowledge the freedom His love brought us. Thanking God is a fuel that ignites the mind with peace and tells us everything will work out. It liberates the heart with a joy that cannot be robbed and a treasure that will never rot. Thanking Him brings us closer to the intimate relationship with God that so many seek. But this joy is purely ours.

So, pause a moment right away, and thank your God Almighty. No matter what you are going through, pause to sense Him who said, “I am with you, always”.

Now, open your heart and shout out His praise. God is good. His mercy endures forever. Give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men.
