Job 11:19 NIV

“You will lie down, with no one to make you afraid, and many will court your favor.”

Fear and anxiety are common emotions that we all undergo as a result of the fallen world. However, God has defeated sin and promised us His peace. Today’s verse contains words of encouragement by Zophar to his friend, Job, providing a glimpse into the blessings of living according to God’s will.

The promise of lying down without fear is a profound gift. In our hectic and often uncertain lives, fear and anxiety can be constant companions. Yet, God assures us that through His presence, we can find true peace. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but the deep, abiding sense of security that comes from trusting in God’s sovereignty and love.

Moreover, the second part of the verse, “many will court your favor,” speaks to the respect and honor that comes from living a righteous life. When we walk in integrity and godliness, it not only blesses our own lives but also influences those around us. People are drawn to the light of Christ within us and seek our wisdom, counsel, and companionship.

As you meditate on this verse today, let it encourage you to pursue a life deeply rooted in faith, trusting that God’s protection and favor will follow. In Him, we find the courage to face each day and the grace to impact the world around us positively.
