The Bread of Life

John 6:35 NKJV

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst.”

Jesus declares Himself as the Bread of Life, offering spiritual sustenance that satisfies the deepest longings of the human heart. Bread, a symbol of nourishment and sustenance, reminds us of our daily need for Him. Just as physical food sustains our bodies, Jesus alone provides the spiritual nourishment that sustains our souls.

When we come to Him, our hunger for purpose, peace, and hope is satisfied. When we believe in Him, our thirst for meaning and eternal security is quenched. Nothing in this world—no success, relationship, or possession—can satisfy us as Jesus does.

This invitation to “come” and “believe” is ongoing. Each day, we must intentionally draw near to Jesus, feed on His Word, trust His promises, and allow Him to fill the emptiness that only He can.

Today, reflect on what you’ve been seeking to satisfy your spiritual hunger. Turn to Jesus, the Bread of Life, and allow Him to fill you with His life-giving presence. In Him, you will find true fulfillment, now and forever.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my sustenance. I find my meaning and purpose in life through You. I believe only You can satisfy the hunger and thirst of my soul. Help me draw near to you and navigate life trusting in Your promises. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
