1 John 5:15 NKJV

“If we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.”

Do you approach prayer with the confidence that God hears you? This verse is a powerful reminder of the assurance we have in prayer. It highlights the intimate relationship between God and His children, emphasizing that He not only listens to us but responds in ways that align with His perfect will.

When we pray, we are not speaking into the void; we are communicating with the Creator of the universe, a loving Father who desires what is best for us. This assurance should fill our hearts with peace and strengthen our faith, even when the answers to our prayers may not come immediately or in the way we expect.

However, this confidence is rooted in a vital truth: our prayers align with God’s will (1 John 5:14). To pray effectively, we must seek to know His heart through His Word and the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we align our desires with His purpose, we can trust that what we ask for will be granted—not because of our power, but because of His faithfulness.

This verse invites us to trust in God’s goodness and timing. Perhaps you are waiting for an answer to a prayer. Be encouraged that God hears you, notices your needs, and is at work even now. His answers are always for your ultimate good and His glory.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the assurance that You hear me when I pray. Help me to trust in Your goodness and align my desires with Your will. Strengthen my faith to believe that Your answers, whether immediate or delayed, are always perfect. Teach me to seek Your heart in all things and to rest in the confidence that You are working for my good and Your glory. Amen.
