Habakkuk 3:19 NKJV
“The Lord God is my strength; He will make my feet like deer’s feet, and He will make me walk on my high hills.”
Climbing a mountain isn’t for the faint of heart. Mountaineers spend months training and conditioning themselves to conquer great heights. The uphill trek may seem never-ending but those who endure the climb are rewarded with breathtaking views and the satisfaction of accomplishing a task that seemed daunting at first.
In the Bible, mountains are often associated with challenging situations. In our lives too, we might face mountainous obstacles that stand in the way of our progress. But today’s verse gives us hope. When we depend on the Lord and trust Him to be our strength, He will help us scale great heights.
The feet of deer and mountain goats are specially designed to climb steep, rocky cliffs with ease. If God can provide an animal with what it needs to scale a hill, will He not give us everything we need to navigate our lives (2 Peter 1:3)?
Don’t be alarmed by the mountain in front of you. God will straighten the path before you (Isaiah 45:2), and provide the grace and strength you need to journey through it. Remember that you are not walking alone. The Lord Almighty is by your side. He will be your strength as you climb the mountain. And when you reach the mountaintop, you’ll look back in awe at how wonderfully God has led you this far.
