Psalm 34:4
“I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
None of us is exempt from trouble, problems happen and they can definitely wear us down causing anxiety, lack of sleep, even fear. And fear does not come from God, but it can paralyze us because we don’t know the end result of things.
Think of a time in your life when you had this feeling, or maybe, you are going through a situation that is causing you to fear. Know that God is in control of absolutely “everything”. He does not get surprised by the unknowns – He is Omniscient – Time as we know it is in His hands – His Plans are always better than any plan we can come up with – His Ways are always better than any way we choose to walk on – and He knows exactly what is going to happen next.
When we shift our focus from our problems to the Lord, when our eyes seek His help, when we look up to the mountains, this fear gets dimmed, and we realize we really cannot do anything except to rely on the Goodness and the Perfect Plan He has for us.
This exercise takes courage from our part, it requires us to let go, and to let God do: this is surrender. We surrender to Him everything: our worst fears, our most precious possessions, our entire being.
He then gives us the Peace that the world cannot understand, the Peace that transcends human understanding. So let’s remember that no matter the situation, our God has us secure in His hands; that fear has no room where He is; that He is very near to us; that He hears us when we call upon Him; and that He has the Almighty Power to deliver us from all our fears.
Let us always seek and trust Him! Amen!
