Glorious Praise

Psalms 66:1-2

Make a joyful shout to God, all the earth! Sing out the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.

Praise is a glorious celebration and exaltation of our God Most High. It honours God for who He is and glorifies His marvellous works. It magnifies His unconditional love, His creative miracles, His holiness, His splendour, His redemptive work and His unshakable faithfulness.

A crucial key to a victorious spiritual life is to enter God’s presence through dynamic praise. It can include singing, rejoicing, thanksgiving and worship. Enter His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise (Psalms 100:4) because He is good and His love is everlasting.

Praise and worship are powerful weapons in spiritual warfare. It changes our perspective, and those insurmountable mountains will suddenly feel possible to climb. We will have God’s vision and start seeing through the eyes of faith. A posture of praise alleviates our loneliness and strengthens us when we are weary. It binds up our broken hearts and turns our teary eyes up toward our Creator.

So, when do we praise? Always! Praise God even before your miracle comes, before you see the light at the end of your dark tunnel. Before your Red Sea divides, before your bread and fish multiply. Praise Him before Lazarus comes out of the grave, before your seventh dip in Jordan for healing. Yes, praise Him before your Jericho walls come down!

The greatest gift of all is salvation. Praise the Lord for His mercies that are new every morning and for His grace that has kept us safe this far. Worship Him for His nail-pierced hands, which are a shield around us, and for His blood that has made us white as snow. Thank Him for the eternal life that He has bestowed upon us.

When praise rises, hope returns, faith renews, and the future looks promising once again. With Christ, our best is yet to come!
