2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NKJV
“Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”
God chose us for a purpose. And for that very purpose, God also anointed us. He set His chosen ones apart, consecrating us to fulfill His plan and purpose in and through us.
There is no doubt that we are God’s children – bought with the precious price of the Blood of His Son. Let this truth wash over your soul and soak the deep recesses of your spirit! According to 1 Peter 1:18-19 AMP, “For you know that you were not redeemed from your useless [spiritually unproductive] way of life inherited [by tradition] from your forefathers with perishable things like silver and gold, but [you were actually purchased] with precious blood, like that of a [sacrificial] lamb unblemished and spotless, the priceless blood of Christ.”
We were sealed to authenticate His possession, just as the seal on valuable documents, property, and agreements authenticates its ownership. Take courage, knowing you are owned, protected, and under God’s authority.
God has also given us the Holy Spirit as a guarantee. A guarantee of what? A guarantee that empowers, transforms, leads, and guides us on this side of eternity to fulfill the promise of the New Covenant. We do not walk alone. God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us. May this be imprinted in your spirit by the Holy Spirit who dwells in you. God chose you; He anointed you; He sealed you as His very own; and He gave you His Holy Spirit – all to empower you and ensure that what He began, He will complete!
