Isaiah 30:18 – “Therefore the Lord will wait, that He may be gracious to you; And therefore He will be exalted, that He may have mercy on you. For the Lord is a God of justice; Blessed are all those who wait for Him.”
When we ride behind a public bus we see people running trying to get inside; we hear bus drivers honking their horn so loudly; and driving extremely fast and furiously.
Aren’t you glad our God is not like a bus driver?
Anyone who waits knows that in order to wait we need patience and time. And our God waits for us, He slows down in order to wait for us, in order to save us. He waits on high to have compassion on us. He longs to be gracious unto us. He longs to forgive and be merciful unto us.
Even when we sin and choose our own ways without waiting on Him, He still has mercy for us because He is a just God and He will be exalted regardless of our choices.
It is good to wait upon the Lord, just as He waits upon us. It is good to put our trust in Him. It is good to put our hope in Him. “ And in that day it will be said, “Surely this is our God; we have waited for Him, and He has saved us. This is the Lord for whom we have waited. Let us rejoice and be glad in his salvation.” (Isaiah 25:9) Amen!
