Hebrews 10:16-17 NIV
“This is the covenant I will make with them…says the Lord. I will put my laws in their hearts, and I will write them on their minds. Their sins and lawless acts I will remember no more.”
In the new covenant, God promised to put His laws into the hearts of His people and write them on their minds. Jesus shed His blood, the blood of the covenant. He is now the mediator of the new covenant. This is God’s promise in Ezekiel 36:27, “I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My ordinances and do them.”
The power of the Holy Spirit is within us. He causes us to obey the laws of God, which He has put in our hearts and written on our minds! You do not have to journey through life on your own. Turn to the One who gave you life. Under the old covenant, the Israelites were dependent on the High Priest. Only the High Priest had direct access to God. The death and resurrection of Jesus changed it all. Under the new covenant, He has given us everything we need to walk in His ways – His Word, His Spirit, and direct access to the Father by the blood of the Lamb.
It is our sins that come in the way of walking in the fullness of all that He wants for us. The sins and lawless acts that are sometimes hard for even us to forget, God Himself will remember no more. Do you see it? Oh, how He loves us!
