Today is Kargil Vijay Divas, a day to remember the brave sacrifices of our Indian soldiers in the Kargil war for our safety and freedom.
Imagine a scenario where An Indian Army personnel arrives at your locality with a gun in his hand, patrolling every lane in your locality. As scared as you might be in that situation, you’ll also have a deep sense of protection and safety in their presence. Similarly, Our Lord Almighty is our front and rare Guard at all times.
This chapter tells the tale of rescue-love-protection and vengeance-destruction-justice at the same time. His face is fierce like a lion, but His hand is strong to save. His feet are running for vengeance to His enemies, but for a child of God, it is the same bosom that heals, cares, and feeds.
When He comes with a strong hand of revenge and justice, His enemies are scared of Him, but for you, that arm will be of protection and safety! If we can have such a sense of belonging and safety in a soldier’s arms and presence, how much more deeply we should rely on our Heavenly Father’s love?
As we meditate on the scripture today, let’s remind ourselves to praise God for who He is and depend deeper on him!
