Romans 8:15: For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
When we accept Jesus into our lives and decide to live a life that is pleasing to Him, we receive the Holy Spirit. We are adopted into the family of God. God becomes our Father and we call Him Abba. When we were still in the world and living according to the whims and fancies of the world, we had a spirit that was ruling us and made us to sin against God, held us against our will, kept us in bondage to the worldly pleasures and sin.
Now that we belong to God and have been adopted into the family of God and have a Father whom we call Abba, we can come boldly to the throne room of grace and pour out all our cares and anxieties upon Jesus. We need not be afraid anymore because we are now God’s children. God’s word says that to everyone who believe in Jesus, He has given them the authority to be called as His children. We can boldly operate now as His children, authorized to cast out demons and principalities and powers of darkness that rule every high places. We have victory and freedom over every spirits that once made us captive and bound us in sin and wickedness.
Since we are adopted into God’s family, we better behave like one. Don’t hide somewhere scared of depression, failure, sickness, bondage, etc. Instead, come boldly to Jesus and make your requests known before God since you are His child.
