Romans 12:1-2 “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.”
There are so many biographies and books written about evangelists who sold or gave away all they had, moved to another country or went through a hard life to give all they had to God. When we read this literature, we feel we aren’t doing enough to serve. Alternatively we may feel ‘Wow! I don’t think I can do that!?’ Remember the story of the old widow who gave two coins? God does not see the quantity that we give to Him. He only looks at the quality of our sacrifice…meaning the heart we use when we give. Is it to show people what we do for God? Is it to glorify God in everything we do big or small? Do we submit our everyday life–work, eating, sleeping, commuting, etc– and place it before God as our offering? Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for Him. Ask God for help when you submit your day to Him (everything you think, speak or do) to bring glory to Him.
Father God, I thank you for teaching me about placing my life before you as a living sacrifice. Please help me live a life that pleases you so that you can accept my sacrifice. Use me for your glory, Lord. In Jesus name … Amen
