Matthew 7:7 NKJV
Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you.
This is a well-known verse from the Bible that many of us quote when we need answers to our prayers. Here, Jesus describes the attitude with which children of God should bring their requests to Him. This statement also reflects God’s willingness to answer those who sincerely seek Him.
Since our mighty God is ever listening and loving, Jesus tells us to ask, seek, and knock. When you ask, it will be given. When you seek, you will find. When you knock, the right door will be opened.
When we “ask” God by making a request, we need to “seek” by being persistent, and consistently “knock” at the door until God answers. In essence, we need to ask, ask again, and keep asking.
Jesus tells His followers to bring their requests, look for answers, and ask, to be let into God’s presence. Today’s verse is an invitation to interact with our generous Heavenly Father who loves to hear the prayers of His people.
Therefore, let us be inspired by what Jesus taught us and go to the Father today. Let us approach Him with a heart full of faith to see the doors that He will open for us. Let’s ask for His guidance, wisdom, and strength and have the courage to persistently knock when we are faced with uncertainty.
When we trust in God’s perfect and loving ways, we can be assured that He will answer our prayers.
