1 Peter 4:14

If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you.

Following Jesus isn’t always met with applause. Sometimes, it brings misunderstanding, ridicule, and even rejection from the world around. In today’s verse, Peter reminds believers that being reproached for the name of Christ is not a curse, but a blessing. It is our testimony that the Spirit of God rests upon us.

When we are isolated for our faith, heaven sees it as an honour. God’s spirit does not abandon us, but draws us closer to Him. The world may see it as weakness, but in the unseen realm, you are clothed in God’s glory.

Everyone faces challenges. For some, the cost of following Jesus is agony. But God turns that pain and hardship into a testimony. It becomes a seed for His kingdom. The One who faced the cross walks with you through your trials.

When we bear reproach for Christ, we share in a small measure with His own suffering. It connects us more deeply to Him and strengthens our witness to others. Our endurance becomes a light for those who waver in their faith, showing that Christ is worth every cost.

Let’s not despise rejection, but instead rejoice, for our identity is in Christ. The trials that press us today are shaping us for eternal glory. Our suffering is never wasted. In God’s hands, it becomes a crown.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, help me stand firm when I am mocked or rejected for my faith. Fill me with Your Spirit and remind me of the eternal joy ahead. Amen.
