Compassionate King

Psalm 72:12-13
He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death.

Psalm 72 is the psalm where psalmists pray for a king to rule successfully with wisdom and justice. The above scripture emphasizes the compassion that a king should possess while ruling his people including vulnerable members of society.

There is only one king who demonstrates this compassion, and His name is Jesus. He is called the king of kings. Those who cry out to Him are never discouraged. He satisfies the needy, protects the afflicted, and sustains all.

Therefore, whatever our situation, whether we are needy, afflicted, or weak; His mercy, love, and compassion will see us through. As it is in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, we should be Christ’s representators in the world. Have a heart for the needy and afflicted whom we see around. We are where we are for a reason and purpose. We should be influencers. We should reflect His beauty and character. We should be compassionate.  We can be so as He strengthens us. So let us Arise and Shine for His glory.

Blessed Day Ahead.
