Proverbs 3:25-26
Do not be afraid of sudden terror, nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; for the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
Life can change in an instant. A phone call, a diagnosis, a crisis at work, or a sudden loss can shake us to the core. But God’s Word reminds us: we don’t have to live in fear of the unexpected.
Why? Because the Lord is our confidence. He is not surprised by what surprises us. He is not shaken by what shakes us. When trouble comes, and it will, He promises to be our steady ground, our protector, and our guide.
This doesn’t mean we’ll never face hardship. But it does mean we don’t face it alone. God watches over our steps. He keeps our feet from being caught in the snares of fear, anxiety, or destruction. When the world feels unstable, God remains unchanging. His presence gives us peace in the middle of panic, and His promises give us strength when we feel weak.
Are you living in fear of what might happen? Is there a situation in your life that feels uncertain or unstable? Take heart. God is your confidence. You can rest in His wisdom, His timing, and His protection. Instead of fearing the unknown, trust the One who knows all things.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for being my confidence when life feels uncertain. Help me not to fear sudden trouble, but to trust in Your constant presence and protection. Keep my feet steady and my heart anchored in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
