Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.”
Imagine a potter fashioning a clay vessel on his wheel. Even before he puts the lump of clay on the wheel, he has a basic idea of what the finished product will look like, and what it will be used for. As he keeps moulding the clay into a beautiful vessel, he makes sure it is good enough for its intended use. Each of the potter’s creations have their own unique purposes. One might be a vase to hold flowers, another might be a jug to hold water. A small cup might have been created for people to drink water from, while a larger basin would be used to store large quantities of water.
God is our Potter, and we are His workmanship. He created each of us with different purposes. He has blessed us with unique skills and characteristics to fulfill the good work that He planned for us to do. Our mission is to find out what our designated purpose is, and do our best to fulfill it. When we commit ourselves to God, He will reveal His will in our lives. He will guide us step by step into our divine calling. Hold His hand, and do the good work He has called you to do.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for creating us with unique talents to fulfill Your purpose in our lives. Open our eyes that we might see where we need to go, and what we need to do. May we always remain faithful to do our best with what You have given us.
