Matthew 6:25: Therefore I say unto you, take no thought for your life what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on, is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Jesus does not want us to be anxious. He does not want us to be anxious about the food or clothes. He wants us to think about our life which is more important than the ordinary essential things of our day to day existence. Does it mean that we should go without clothes or food for the rest of our life? No, it means that we should give our concerns to God so that He will satisfy our needs.
Jesus wants us to depend on Him for everything and to stop being anxious and fretting over our material needs. He wants us to realize where we would be spending eternity, whether it is with Him in heaven or in hell with the enemy of our souls. Jesus said that He came to give life and life in abundance and not just clothes and food to satisfy our bodily requirements. A life in abundance is the one that is filled with joy, hope, peace, and contentment. A life that God gives to those who want to enjoy Him and care less for the things of this world.
Have you decided about where you will spend your life? Stop worrying about things that satisfy our bodily desires and start focusing on the things of God. Let us live our life in a way that God wants us to live, to understand His purpose for us and living accordingly.
