Lamentations 3:22-23 – “It is of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.”
We often end a Sunday, energized and invigorated, ready for whatever the week ahead might hold. We’ve had our weekend break, and refreshed ourselves – physically, emotionally and spiritually. Yet, it only takes a Monday morning to bring us back to reality. When Monday comes, it brings along with it an early wake up time, a tight schedule, and the general busyness that accompanies our normal life.
Halfway through the week, most of us are stressed and burnt out, trying our best to limp across to the next weekend. But it doesn’t have to be that way. The Bible reminds us that we are not consumed – not by difficult circumstances or stressful situations. We are not consumed because of God’s abundant mercy and compassion for us. As long as we remember to tap in to the reservoir of His love, we will not run on empty.
Yes, God is faithful. But we must be eager to seek His face every day to renew our minds and recharge our souls. We don’t have to keep running through the week on a half empty tank. We only need to run to Him, and allow His wisdom, grace and strength to carry us through the week. If you feel worn down this week, remember to turn to Jesus. He will fill you to overflowing, so you can go out and be a blessing to others for His glory.
