Hebrews 4:11
Let us therefore be diligent to enter that rest, lest anyone fall according to the same example of disobedience.
Hebrews 4 begins by reminding us of the Israelites who, even after seeing God’s power, failed to enter His rest because of unbelief and disobedience. It’s more than a history lesson—it’s a loving warning for us today.
Hebrews 4:11 says, “Let us, therefore, make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will perish by following their example of disobedience.” God’s rest isn’t about doing nothing—it’s about trusting Him fully. It’s choosing faith over fear, belief over striving.
In today’s world, we often stay busy to feel valuable. We fill our days with work, noise, and constant activity. We chase success, approval, and purpose, but often feel empty and tired. God offers something different—true rest. Not just physical rest, but a deep, soul-level peace. A rest that comes from knowing we are loved, accepted, and secure in Him.
Even God rested on the seventh day—not because He was tired, but to show us a better rhythm. When we ignore this, we risk spiritual exhaustion. Like the Israelites, we miss out when we hear God’s promises yet don’t respond with faith.
So today, choose to make space for God. Rest in His presence. Reflect on His Word. Trust that He’s working, even when you are still. This rest is not just about slowing down—it’s about being renewed. It’s an act of worship, a sign of faith.
Don’t miss the rest that God offers. Enter that rest—on purpose, with faith, and with joy.
