Don’t quit

Luke 5:5:  And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing: nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net.

There are times when we have done all that we can within our limits and don’t see the fruit of our labour.  There are also times when we feel we have wasted our resources, time, and effort on the things that we so desired but ended up with futile results.  These are the moments when we throw up our hands in the air frustrated and disappointed, but did you know that God will make use of these moments of dejection and work on our failed efforts?  Well, He always does!

Simon tells Jesus that they toiled the whole night to fish something but caught nothing.  He was willing to let down the net though, because Jesus said so.  He obeyed Jesus and lo and behold, they caught many fishes and their net broke.  Have you written off some things from your life thinking that it’s of no use to try again?  Have you been speaking negative over your failed efforts and moments in life?  Stop it right now and give it all to Jesus.  Jesus wants to put you back on track.  In the very place where you saw defeat, you will see victory.  Jesus wants you to give it another try and obey Him with your whole heart.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to rely on your own strength and wisdom.  Human wisdom will ask you to quit after some time, but God wants you to go ahead in your life without quitting over your circumstances.
