Psalm 145:1-2 – “I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.”
With a grateful heart we burst praises and we lift up the name of our Lord Jesus. King David was singing praises to the Highest King when he said “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will always be on my lips.” (Psalm 34:1)
“In contemplation of the greatness and majesty of God time ceases to be”. (Ellicott) Forever and ever is a place where time will cease to be, impossible for us to imagine, but where you and I will be blessing and singing and praising our God.
We bless and praise the name of the Lord because of all that He has done for us. We bless Him for His goodness, love and kindness towards us. We bless Him because He hears our cries, we bless Him because He is the One who forgave all our transgressions, who stood and carried us through all our trials and temptations. We bless His name because He gave us victory over all enemies, our wars.
Even if you don’t feel like praising His name, praise anyway! Because “He will comfort all who mourn; give a crown of beauty instead of ashes; pour the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair.” (Isaiah 61:2-3).
So go ahead and praise the Lord! He is worthy of it! May His praise be always on your lips!
