1 John 5:14
Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
How amazing is this verse which says that if we ask our Heavenly Father for ANYTHING according to His will, He hears us.
So when we have prayed prayers for our loved ones to be saved, that they would know the Lord and His love, when we have prayed for marriages to be restored, when we have prayed for our addicted brothers or sisters to be set free from their bondages, or prayed for healings and miracles in the Name of Jesus, all of this in agreement to the Lord’s promises and plans, isn’t it clear that the Lord has heard us?
Yet, haven’t we had disappointing experiences where it seems like the answers to our prayers have still not come and out mind wonders if the Lord has heard us at all? What went off? Did we miss something?
Beloved, when we have confidence in Him, we will trust Him with all our hearts knowing that the Lord knows what He does in His sovereign will and in His appointed time. But when our hearts pressing desires try to camouflage as His will, we need to re-evaluate our prayers. When we understand that the Lord’s ways are not our ways, nor are His thoughts our thoughts, we will learn to pray like our Lord Jesus’ prayed in the Garden of Gethsemane-“take this cup from me, yet, not my will but yours be done.” We serve a God who is alive…not one of our earnest prayers falls to the ground…He is El-Shama-Our God who hears us when we call. Let us always have the assurance and boldness that He has already answered our prayers…but the answer may not manifest as per our understanding…but as per His divine plan!
