Isaiah 54:14

In righteousness, you shall be established; you shall be far from oppression, for you shall not fear; and from terror, for it shall not come near you.

This verse is a promise of security. Not based on our circumstances but on our standing with God. What does it mean to be established in righteousness? It means to be firmly rooted in a right relationship with God. It’s not our perfection but His grace that clothes us in righteousness through faith.

Isaiah 54:14 reminds us that when we walk in the righteousness God provides, fear loses its grip. What fears and terrors are you experiencing currently? Are you living in the fear of failure, rejection, fear of the future, wrong decisions, people and relationships, fear of sickness and death? Do not be anxious. Oppression and terror may exist in the world, but they will not have the final say over our lives. God’s presence becomes our shield; His peace will be our anchor.

There is great peace in knowing that your foundation is not built on shaky ground. The world may shake, but God’s righteousness holds steady. When fear knocks, you can stand firm, not in your own strength, but in the assurance that you are covered, protected, and established by the God who loves you.

This has been reinforced multiple times in the Scripture. Psalm 112:6-7 highlights the stability and confidence of the righteous. 2 Thessalonians 3:3 reinforces God’s role in establishing and protecting His people.

When you know the truth, the truth will set you free (John 8:32). The truth is, we are established in righteousness. Because of this, we shall not fear, and no terror will come near us. Believe, declare, and live free!
