Exclusive Wisdom for a Successful Life

James 1:5 “ If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” KJV

We often confuse knowledge with wisdom. But the difference between the two is quite distinct. It takes wisdom to pick the right moment to use our knowledge.

A wise man once said, “Knowledge is knowing what to say and wisdom is knowing whether to say it or not.” Therefore, knowledge without wisdom is in vain. Knowledge can be sourced easily, especially in the digital age that we live in.

Wisdom, on the other hand, is an attribute that can neither be taught nor learnt. And the lack of this very essential quality is very often the reason why many of us fail in taking the right decisions, despite having the talent, intelligence and desire to do the right thing. This is where the Lord of the Holy Bible steps in to help us.

The above verse affirms the fact that our Lord is very much concerned with our decision-making abilities. He encourages each of us to reach out to Him if we lack wisdom to make the right choices in life.

Isn’t it amazing that the God who created the entire universe wants to be involved in our daily affairs?

The Holy Bible considers wisdom to be the foundation of a person’s character. When one mentions wisdom from the Holy Bible, King Solomon’s name immediately comes to mind. It pleased our God when he asked for wisdom because the Lord delights to give wisdom to those who seek it. He gives it freely and generously. King Solomon acquired this gift from God and earned a reputation of having great wisdom and sound judgement.

When we use the wisdom that comes from God, it does not only enable us to make good decisions but also helps us to foresee the repercussions of every decision we make. Wisdom is a divine gift granted by God to any believer who asks.

So, let us seek God for this precious and unfailing gift, which is very much the key to a successful life.
