Fortifying Prayer

Acts‬ ‭4:31‬ – “And when they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.”

Have you seen advertisements for health drinks? Most of them claim to be fortified with special vitamins and minerals for extra energy. Even sports-persons supposedly drink them before crucial matches and they win – at least that’s what the advertisers want us to believe.

In today’s verse, we see a particular ingredient that fortified the disciples and prepared them for their work ahead – Prayer. While a health drink may not live up to its expectations, prayer most definitely fortifies you to face your life head on. The time you spend in prayer is precious because God hears ever word you utter. He sees each tear that falls; He understands your grief and pain.

While you may not always receive an immediate solution, the time you spend in the presence of God will give you courage, confidence and the strength to press on. When you humble yourself in God’s presence and plead with Him to intervene in your situation, He most certainly will. Spend adequate time in prayer daily; it will fortify you to handle whatever comes your way, and give you the strength to keep going until you receive your breakthrough.
