From Bitterness to Blessing

‭‭Exodus‬ ‭15:23-25, 27‬ – “When they came to Marah, they could not drink the water of Marah because it was bitter; therefore it was named Marah. And the people grumbled against Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” And he cried to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a log, and he threw it into the water, and the water became sweet… Then they came to Elim, where there were twelve springs of water and seventy palm trees, and they encamped there by the water.”

Marah was a place of bitter water. It was so bad that the Israelites could not consume it, even though they were running out of water. But when Moses cried out to the Lord, He answered with a miracle. The bitter water became sweet and the Israelites had enough to drink. Are you going through a bitter time in your life? Cry out to Jesus; He will help you overcome the bitterness and make your life sweet again.

This season you are going through will not last forever. Although God took the Israelites through Marah, He eventually led them to Elim, a place with abundance of water and palm trees. It was a place of blessing where the Israelites could camp at ease.

God will provide a miracle for you, right where you are, and then lead you out of it to a place of blessing. He will give you the strength to endure a season of suffering, but will also provide a way out of it. You just have to trust in Him and lean on His everlasting arms. God will never fail those who put all their trust in Him.
