John 15:16 NKJV

You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain, that whatever you ask the Father in My name He may give you.

In Jewish tradition, disciples chose their rabbis. Not so with our Lord Jesus. He chose you. Pause and think about this. The Creator of this universe, the King of kings and Lord of lords chose you. It has nothing to do with your ability, your resources (technically His!), or your works. He chose you purely by His grace.

He chose you and ordained you with a specific intention and purpose. There is nothing random about your life. He chose you that you should “go and bear fruit”. John 15:5 says, “I am the Vine; you are the branches. The one who remains in Me and I in him bears much fruit.”

How do we bear “much fruit”? By staying steadfast in the Lord. Branches draw nourishment from the vine and are nurtured to produce fruit. Psalm 1:2 AMP says, “But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on His law [His precepts and teachings] he [habitually] meditates day and night.”

Do the branches bear fruit year-round? A tree firmly planted by streams of water yields its fruit in its season (Psalm 1:3). Jeremiah 17:7-8 says the man who trusts in the Lord is like a tree that does not fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It does not worry in a year of drought, nor does it cease to produce fruit.” Remember your Heavenly Father is with you in every season of your life.

God has promised that whatever you ask the Father in Jesus’ Name according to His will and purpose, He will give you. Your help is just a prayer away. You are His choice!
